Dalton Bentley 2014 May
I got my first guitar, a Sears Silvertone 6 string acoustic, in 1965, and was playing rock and roll (lead guitar) in my first band a year later. By 1971 I had written and was singing and performing my first original rock song, a blues rock composition called “Brown Helmet Blues.” Visit the archived lead improvisations link (in the navigation column to the left) to hear a live excerpt of that song from 1971 and a couple of other excerpts of my live lead work in the 70's.
With various bands, I played a lot of concert gigs around the Southwest, as well as night clubs.
I left the music business by 1976 and had several careers (electronics, software design, Information Technology).
In 2010 I produced (using a home studio I engineered with my colleague) two albums of original songs with a former rock colleague, Chas Thomas. Those albums, Out of Time and Just One More Time, are available as mp3 download sales at iTunes, among other venues (just search on "Dalton Bentley music" on any search engine to see links to Youtube, iTunes, etc.). I put most of the songs on those two albums up in their entirety for free (to listen to) at the link in the menu to the left above, i.e., "albums with chas thomas." You can read more about the composition, performance and production at the CD Baby link.
I wrote and recorded more songs after 2010, some of which I have put up here at this site. Some of the work is preliminary and may remain that way, as I am slowing down a bit.
